Bio
Daniel Heath first came first into the public eye as the poet laureate of the 6th Coast Artillery Regiment during the latter days of the Second World War, when he was stationed at Battery Chamberlain and was responsible for the chalking of numerous filthy limericks inside the battery's blast barriers. Heath was thought lost in the magazine explosion on V-J Day, but resurfaced three decades later at a Russian Hill chop shop, apparently un-aged, with no memory of his previous literary activities and lacking use of his right hand. Years of physical and psychological therapy allowed him to return to public life, beginning a literary career in earnest with the publication of the seven-volume "Romance of the Terracotta Flak Vest." His work continued through an Emmy-award-winning television series celebrating the life and times of Spiro Agnew and arguably culminated in the celebrated sonnet sequence "Quasimodo and the Queen" on the occasion of Mrs. Ronald Reagan's accession to her second term as First Lady. A bitter public feud with his former protégé and friend John Dee precipitated a mental and physical deterioration during which acquaintances remarked that the lost years seemed to be revisited upon him with interest. He is currently housed in a persistent vegetative state in a glass case in the rotunda of the San Francisco City Hall.
